Interview with Brian Witlin of ShopWell

Last week I caught up with Brian Witlin, CEO and co-founder of ShopWell to talk about his upcoming product demo at the Health 2.0 Spring Fling.

ShopWell is a mobile and web-based application that allows users to quickly scan or search products, asses their dietary impact and see alternatives. Users can also enter dietary needs and will be alerted if a product doesn’t fit. The goal is to enable users to make quick, informed trade-up decisions for their health when considering purchases.

In the interview below, hear Brian discus the story behind ShopWell, the process behind a product’s rating, and how ShopWell can help consumers pay a little more attention to what they’re buying.

See more of ShopWell on March 22, when Brian gives a live product demo onstage. For more on the exciting Spring Fling agenda, see here.

I use shop well for 5 minutes right before I go the grocery store. I make it a point to find 3 new healthy snack foods to bring into my pantry. I try for b+ or better and then eliminate 1 bad food. Also work great on the go in the store! Thanks shopwell and keep up the great work!!
