Aetna announced several key enhancements to its CarePass Platform, enabling easy access to data and services for third party developers. In addition, Aenta announced a $100,000 prize for its Health 2.0 Developer Challenge to develop an innovative solution that encourages medication adherence.

The University of California, Berkeley was awarded $10 million from the National Science Foundation to develop ‘Big Data’ applications. Two of their first projects will focus on cancer genomics and personalized medicine.
