Big Data analytics company GNS Healthcare raised $5 million. GNS recently collaborated with the University of California, San Francisco and the National Cancer Institute on research projects.
Audax Health received the Health Appraisals certification, a credential from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Audax is the creator of Careverge, an online health application that lets patients track their health and fitness goals. Certification is based on NCQA standards and granted by a national oversight committee of physicians.
Pittsburgh-based Highmark Inc., an association of independent Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans, and Teladoc launched a pilot program for Highmark members. The pilot gives about 10,000 patients access to telehealth consultations.
