Video: Shanghai Code-a-thon Time Lapse

When code-a-thon goers try to explain to first timers exactly what an event is like, they talk about that scene from “The Social Network” movie when hackers sit in a dark room hunched over their computers, breaking after every 10 lines of code they write to take a shot of liquor. That’s one example.
Watch the video above for a time lapsed glimpse into what this past weekend’s event in Shanghai looked like. Developers had two days to come up with and create new Web and mobile health care applications.
Startup China and the Health 2.0 Developers World Cup partnered to put on a competition that included more than 120 participants and 14 teams. The first place team Kan Chu Fang created an online and mobile app called Treatment Comparisons. The program crowd-sources medical bill receipts so patients can check if their care was appropriately priced and handled.
