The Innovation & Imagination Teams Launch the Shire ADHD Transitions Challenge
The Shire 2020 Vision inspires all of us to look for new initiatives and strategies that improve patients’ lives. We’ve partnered with Health 2.0 to sponsor a competition among their established network of over 4,000 technology companies and organizations. With a $100,000 top prize, the goal of this challenge is to create technology driven solutions that aid individuals with ADHD during the transition from adolescence into adulthood.
The Shire ADHD Transitions Challenge is a two-phase Challenge that features awards totaling $150,000.
Successful solutions may include tools that address the following:
- Transition from a structured high-school environment to the less-structured environment of college life
- Transition from college to the workforce
- Aid patients in addressing and conquering daily organizational and life management challenges
- Connect the ADHD patient with the healthcare system and encourage medication adherence
Phase I of the challenge will be an ideation competition in which teams will be required to submit concepts for applications that address the goals of the challenge. Submissions are due by March 17th. Five semi-finalists will be selected and each will be awarded $5,000 and invited to progress to Phase II.
Phase II of the challenge will involve the development of working applications proposed in Phase I of the competition. Submissions are due August 18th. The top three submissions will receive the following awards:
- 1st Prize: $100K
- 2nd Prize: $20K
