Fritz Kahn was a German gynecologist and anatomy textbook author who depicted the human body as a factory. Using a man-machine analogy, he capture how industrialization had taken over western life in a way that’s not too different from health care’s current relationship with technology. This dynamic version by Henning Lederer is currently on display at the Philadelphia Museum of Art as part of the “Health for Sale” exhibition. Please go to Open Culture for more details.
