Novartis Announces Judging Panel for the CardioEngagement Challenge

Novartis and Health 2.0 are excited to announce the judging panel for the Novartis CardioEngagement Challenge. With cash awards totaling $160,000, the Novartis CardioEngagement Challenge represents one of Health 2.0’s largest innovation competitions to date.

The Novartis CardioEngagment Challenge encourages developers to create an interactive solution which enables patients to better manage their cardiovascular health through a customizable, user-friendly interface. The solution should be holistic and help organize and provide easy access to personalized health information, relevant public data, and aggregated content (ie education, treatment, diet, exercise and social network).  The deadline for submissions is October 31st.

For the 1 in 3 Americans who suffer with high blood pressure, taking an active role in managing their own health could mean healthier, longer lives. The goal of the challenge is to create an interactive solution that would motivate and empower people to proactively manage their health. Through easy access and organization of their personal health information, relevant content, and social support, we hope to change the way patients think about their health, and make better-informed decisions for healthier lives.

Judges for the challenge include key stakeholders and thought-leaders from the health and health technology sectors, representing patient advocacy, systems of care, payers and health IT organizations.  This well-rounded panel of industry experts will provide an enlightened review of the submissions entered into this exciting challenge project.

Health 2.0’s Senior Vice President and Challenge Manager, Jean-Luc Neptune explains that, “Health 2.0 focuses on curating the best set of judges for each challenge we issue.  While not every team will win, we offer all of our participants a rare level of interaction with industry leaders.” The Novartis CardioEngagement Challenge certainly achieves this by offering one of Health 2.0′s most impressive judging panels to date.
