Online 3-D virtual worlds might be an effective platform to train patients in meditation and other mind-body relaxation techniques, according to a small study from Massachusetts General Hospital. Patients participated in the program by using Second Life, an online virtual world. The research team, lead by Dr. Hoch, found reductions in patients’ depression- and anxiety-related symptoms. In an announcement that marks health and wellness incubator WellTech‘s launch, the company said it accepted two new companies, FITiST and Wizpert, to its program. New York-based WellTech accepts up to five companies per class.
