Health 2.0 Developer Challenge Finalist: Team Eat2Treat

Team Eat2Treat may have been one of the smaller groups participating in the the Health 2.0 Deveolper Challenge Code-a-thon, but that didn’t stop them from beating out the competition and becoming a finalist at the Health 2.0 Fall Conference in San Francisco, Ca, October 7-8, 2010.  This team used USDA Nutrient Database, Pubmed, Opencyc, and First Databank databases to create their project. Eat2Treat made a system that takes people’s medical symptoms and provides food recommendations to help relieve it. The Code-a-thon judges had a lot of positive comments for the team, but the one thing that they all loved was the interface. When the team gave their final presentation, it was clear that even though this team was small, they weren’t afraid to think big.
