Bedsider.org: What Sex Sounds Like

Right now, about half of all pregnancies in the United States are unplanned and although babies are great, caring for a baby is hard work and especially when you are not ready. Bedsider.org has created a useful tool to help women learn about their birth control options, better manage their birth control, and in the process avoid getting pregnant until they’re ready. It is a free support network for birth control operated by The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. Launched in 2010, the goal is to help women find the method of birth control that’s right for them and learn how to use it consistently and effectively.

During the Behavior Change, Health 2.0 and The Unmentionables session at the Health 2.0 Fall Conference in San Francisco, October 7-8, 2010, Doug Solomon, Chief Technology Officer of IDEO, talked about bedsider.org and it’s challenge to reduce the number of unplanned pregnancies in women between the ages 18-29. Doug’s presentation focused on the importance of tone in the message that we used in behavior change.
